As a therapist at Ruh, you have access to a client care team to enhance the quality of care you provide to your clients. Seeking help and consulting with colleagues, clinical supervisors if present, and the client care team is essential for ensuring the well-being of your clients and delivering high-quality services.

Here’s how you can access help for case consultation and supervision.

Communicate with the Client Care Team

The client care team is your primary resource for questions and concerns related to client care, billing, insurance, and other topics. You can communicate with them through your group chat on the Ruh Care online therapy platform. Each therapist has a group chat with the client care team, typically labeled as "Therapist Name <> Client Care." Since the platform is HIPAA compliant, you can freely mention clients’ names in the chat without compromising their privacy.

Use the chat to ask client-related questions, seek guidance on billing and insurance matters, or request any other assistance you may need. General communication can also take place on the Ruh Therapist Team chat on WhatsApp.

Working with a Supervisor

Clinical supervisors play a vital role in supporting your professional development and ensuring the well-being of your clients. They have direct responsibility for your clients' care and can guide interventions and assessments.

In some cases, after you complete and sign your client notes, your clinical supervisor may review the documentation for accuracy and compliance. If this is part of your arrangement with your supervisor, they will sign and lock the chart, making it final and secure. However, this process may vary depending on the supervisor and therapist's preferences. Always make sure to sign your notes promptly to facilitate any necessary review and feedback from your supervisor.

Accessing Help for Cases, Consultation, and Supervision

For case consultation and supervision, therapists can connect with the Clinical Director to schedule sessions. This can be done through various channels such as WhatsApp, the Ruh Care platform chat, or email. Additionally, therapists have the option to book appointments directly with Amanee for guidance and support by following this link:

In cases requiring specialized consultation beyond regular supervision, therapists should share their requests with the Clinical Director. If there's a need to bring in a specialist, they can share that with us as well.

Scholarly Consultations

Our team has the opportunity to join monthly scholarly consultation sessions with Sheikh Majed Jarrar. These sessions center around specific topics, ethical dilemmas we face as Muslim practitioners, Islamic concepts that may be helpful to integrate in therapy, and opportunities for Q&A.

These sessions are completely optional but we know they will be absolutely invaluable as we enhance our clinical practice and personal development as Muslim practitioners. They'll take place once a month on the second Tuesday of the month at 7 pm EST. We'll also record them and have them for viewing after on the Ruh Learning Hub.

For those who would like to consult one-on-one regarding specific cases, you can connect via email at [email protected] and mention you are a Ruh Care therapist.

Sharing Feedback with the Ruh Team

While direct feedback is preferred for transparency and trust, therapists have the option to suggest implementing anonymous feedback through biannual surveys. We also encourage our therapists to propose alternative methods for sharing feedback based on their preferences.

Regular quarterly check-ins also facilitate direct communication and feedback sharing with the Ruh team and help us ensure ongoing improvement and collaboration in client care and support.

In addition, therapists can benefit from our monthly group consultation sessions where they can receive peer and supervisor feedback and support for cases. These sessions offer valuable opportunities for professional growth and collaborative learning within the Ruh Care team.

Collaborate with Team Members

You can also communicate with team members outside of the Ruh Care platform via email or WhatsApp, but remember to avoid discussing Protected Health Information (PHI) in these channels. By collaborating with your colleagues and maintaining open lines of communication, you can exchange ideas and strategies for improving client care.

Always prioritize open communication and collaboration to ensure the best outcomes for your clients.
